Outreach/Partners

The Pi has associations and connections with a number of other organizations. Though we are not specifically endorsing these organizations over any others, those listed have provided Pi members with positive experiences and satisfying relationships over the years.
  • George Mason University Pi Scholarship: The Pi has sponsored a scholarship at the GMU College of Engineering and Computing since 2017. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students studying information technology at the College. Use the link below to contribute to the GMU Pi Scholarship endowment. Your gift will help ensure that the Pi endowment can become and continue to remain self-sustaining.  Contribute to the scholarship here.
  • Leisure World:  Leisure World of Maryland is 55 and older community in Montgomery County, Maryland. Some Pi members reside here, and the Pi has had to opportunity to conduct technical support sessions for residents.
  • Pozez JCC: The Pozez JCC is committed to building Jewish Connection, Community, and Peoplehood throughout Northern Virginia. The JCC has graciously hosted in-person Pi meetings and, in return, Pi members have provided hardware and software assistance to JCC members attending our sessions.
  • Take Control Books: Many Pi members always want to "know more," and are therefore fans of the Take Control books available here. The books are well written and allow for a deeper dive into many Apple-related subjects. Take Control authors have given well-received presentations to the Pi.
  • MacMost: This is a site for a steady stream of Mac Video Tutorials and Tips for Apple Users. Even the most knowledgeable user can discover something new in each video release. Not surprisingly, MacMost content can be found at macmost.com.
  • The Bearded Teacher: Interested in the latest Apple hardware and software reviews as well as a wealth of Shortcuts and Home Automation material? This is a good place to visit for fast-paced education. Check out the Bearded Teacher here.
  • London Mac Users Group: This is our "across the pond" connection. Some Pi members are also members of this UK-based users' group, and one of their members is on the Pi Board of Directors. You might drop in on this colourful organisation here.
  • Mac Recycle Clinic: The Pi is a big supporter of and has had a long-standing relationship with the Mac Recycle Clinic. The clinic accepts and refurbishes Intel, Mac, and Chromebook computers and, where possible, returns the computers for continued use in the community. Learn more about their important work here.
